Managing Partner & Race Director

Jonathan started Renegade Racing in 2004 after a career in the US Marine Corps and private training.  A Certified Level 2 Race Director by USA Triathlon, he loves designing courses, creating and implementing marketing and production plans, and developing a team to generate a fun, safe and rewarding experience for race participants.  He works closely with charity partners and local agencies to produce quality events throughout Southern California.  He has vast experience in sponsorship development and strategy.  Jonathan is a professor in the University of San Francisco’s Master’s Degree in Sports Management program, a degree he holds himself.  Jonathan also earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Physical Education from California State University Long Beach.  Passionate about helping others, he is one of the all time top fundraisers for the Challenged Athletes Foundation.  As a competitive athlete, he has traveled the globe extensively racing Ironman Triathlons and countless marathons and enjoys bringing his experience as a participant to create unique and rewarding events.

Taite Bergin

Director of Marketing & Communications

Taite is an experienced event professional with a broad range of expertise including marketing and communications, community relations, and international business.  Since 2007 she has led her own consulting firm assisting clients in event management and marketing.  Prior to that, Taite worked for The Cohen Group, an international consulting firm led by former United States Secretary of Defense William Cohen.  There, she managed policy events, conferences and global trade delegations, in addition to maintaining a diverse portfolio of clients she assisted in international business and government relations. Taite holds a master's degree in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.  She studied in Spain, Japan, and taught English in Mexico. Taite currently serves on the Irvine Chamber of Commerce Executive Board of Directors and as Vice Chair of Programs. She also previously served on the Board of Directors for the Irvine Children's Fund the Board of the Orange County Chapter of Meeting Professionals International. She was named one of Orange County's Top 40 Under 40 by OC Metro Magazine in 2009.  She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). She enjoys an active lifestyle and her greatest physical feats were climbing to the top of Half Dome at Yosemite National Park and running her first Half Marathon in 2013.

David Flournoy

In 2008, David transformed his passion for running & multisport and began working in event production business. He co-founded Go Forward Racing in 2010 that produced the first half-iron distance Triathlon in Orange County, Ca. which attracted athletes from all 50 states and several countries! He previously enjoyed a career in advertising & media sales—this has allowed him to work successfully with many local & regional government agencies, local businesses and interest groups to bring world-class events to fruition in Southern California. David studied Business at the University of Arizona, is USA Triathlon Certified Race Director and solid experience in event production, sponsorship sales, and marketing. When not coming up with new event ideas or working at events, David enjoys giving back to the community and racing in events in Southern California and beyond.

Andrea Kooiman

Andrea Kooiman “Coach K”, is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of We ROCK (We Run Orange County’s Kids).  There, she trains the youth in Orange County valuable lessons about goal setting along with keeping them focused on a Marathon finish line.  She is an avid runner with over 90 Marathon and Ultra finishes under her belt.  She is a Marathon Maniac and most recently completed the prestigious Badwater 135 Ultra Marathon in July 2014. Andrea has an extensive background in sales and marketing and utilizes her credentials while working for Renegade Racing and Road Runner Sports.  In addition she has a passion for the health and wellness industry.  It is her solid belief that each individual can and will achieve all of their wildest goals and aspirations if they can first visualize themselves in that position.  She is on a mission to HUG the world and assist others in becoming their own Super Heroes.

Michelle Woo

Volunteer Coordinator

Michelle is a resourceful and passionate professional with 10+ years event experience in volunteer management, event production, community relations and fundraising for athletic events and non-profit organizations. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing. She is the founder of SoCal Volunteers, an event/volunteer management company, and works with clients from Orange County to Ventura County including Renegade Racing, LA Marathon, and CicLAvia. She is an organized multi-tasker and thrives in managing large groups of people in a variety of exciting situations. In her free time, she enjoys crossfitting, playing soccer, trail running and visiting local farmers markets. In 2014, she plans to conquer her first triathlon.

Sinta Troccoli

Web and Graphic Designer

Grew up in Indonesia, Sinta graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Art emphasising in Graphic Design. In the dot-com era Sinta worked for Athletes Direct designing close to 200 official sites for professional athletes including Troy Aikman and Dennis Rodman. In 2000, she started her own web and graphic design freelance business and built clientele in various industries, including Sports Management, Non-Profit, and Legal. Initially a runner, Sinta started doing triathlon in 2003 and never looked back. In June 2015, Sinta will be participating in her 7th Ironman triathlon in Couer de'Alene, Idaho.

Joe Donaldson

Traffic Control

Joe has 25 years experience in CAD, transportation control planning and traffic signal design. His expertise encompasses plans for traffic signal design, signing and striping, traffic control plans, lighting plans, and utility coordination.  At Renegade Racing, he works with the race director to design courses, develop traffic control plans and works closely with cities and traffic control companies to ensure safe, low impact events for residents and businesses in cities around Southern California. He holds certifications in Traffic Signal Design from the Institute of Transportation Study and CAD from MTI College, US Cad and Bentley.

Laura Parkinson
Administration & Marketing Coordinator

Laura was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and ventured out to Southern California for college in 2004. She loved Southern California so much that she stayed. She attended Chapman University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Nutrition. While she has been involved in athletics her whole life, she has been working in the race industry for nearly ten years, and has vast experience in planning and executing races. She specializes in participant and sponsor satisfaction, coordinating with cities and other government entities to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable race. She has coordinated races all across the country in Los Angeles, New York, Cleveland, Dallas, Oregon, and beyond. In her free time, Laura loves going to the mountains, hiking, baseball, the beach, her dog Alba, and living an active lifestyle.
